- Sultan Qaboos Mosque (30 min): Begin your journey with a visit to the largest mosque in Dhofar, a magnificent landmark welcoming thousands of worshippers since its completion in 2009.
- Al Baleed Archaeological Site (45 min): A short drive brings us to this 12th-century trading port of Dhofar, once a hub for frankincense trade with India. Explore its history and visit the Museum of the Frankincense Land, which showcases fascinating artifacts and mysterious monuments.
- Coconut & Banana Plantations (20 min): A refreshing stop to taste locally grown sugar bananas and drink fresh coconut water. Capture beautiful moments with a brief walk inside the plantation.
- Old Sultan Qaboos Palace (10 min): A quick photo stop at the palace’s main gate, clock tower, and the stunning blue-domed mosque set against its picturesque gardens.
- Frankincense Old Souq (45 min): Immerse yourself in the aromatic world of frankincense and traditional Dhofari perfumes. Enjoy free time for shopping and engaging in friendly bargaining with the welcoming local vendors.
Lunch: Savor a traditional Omani Camel meal at a local restaurant, offering an authentic taste of Salalah.

- Marnif Cave & Blow Holes (30 min): A 10-minute drive brings us to this natural spectacle, where strong winds create dramatic jets of seawater through rock crevices, accompanied by thunderous sounds that shake the ground. The intensity depends on wind conditions, making each visit unique.
- Mughsail Beach (30 min): Continue to Mughsail Beach, a pristine 4-kilometer stretch of white sand, perfect for relaxation and photography.

- Wadi Dawkah (45 min): Our first stop takes us to this UNESCO-listed site, an important landmark along the ancient Frankincense Trail. This desert valley is home to around 5,000 frankincense trees, some of which are centuries old. Smell the pure frankincense aroma and witness the source of one of the world’s most valuable resins.
- Lunch in Thumrit Village (1.5 hours): A 30-minute drive brings us to Thumrait, historically a key rest stop for desert travelers. Enjoy a delicious Indian meal before continuing our expedition.
- Lost City of Ubar (30 min): After a 1-hour drive, arrive at the archaeological site of Ubar, a legendary kingdom believed to have flourished 4,800 years ago before mysteriously vanishing beneath the sands. Discovered via satellite in 1992, this site offers a fascinating glimpse into history.
- Off-Road Drive into the Empty Quarter (2 hours): Embark on an exhilarating off-road adventure, traversing towering dunes to reach the Empty Quarter Lodge.
- Dune Bashing & Sunset Experience (20 min): Enjoy a thrilling dune-bashing session before ascending to the top of a massive dune for an awe-inspiring sunset over the endless sea of sand—a truly magical moment.
Evening:
- Gathering under the stars in the heart of the desert.
- Traditional dinner at Empty Quarter Lodge followed by a peaceful overnight stay, surrounded by the serene silence of the dunes.
- Sunrise at the Empty Quarter: Witness a breathtaking sunrise over the dunes, a truly unforgettable moment in the heart of the desert.
- Breakfast at Empty Quarter Lodge, fueling up for the day’s adventures.
- Desert Crossing to Hashman Dunes (1 hour): Journey across the mesmerizing desert landscape to Hashman Dunes, where we explore the terrain in search of Geode Crystal Volcanic Rocks, estimated to be 40 million years old—a rare natural treasure.
- Dune Bashing at Hashman: Experience the thrill of off-road dune bashing on some of the highest dunes in the region.
- Desert Crossing to Burkana 1 (45 min): Travel deeper into the vast desert, reaching Burkana 1 for a picnic lunch amidst the dunes.
- Desert Crossing to Burkana 2: Continue the adventure with another exhilarating drive, navigating the ever-changing desert terrain before returning to Empty Quarter Lodge.
Afternoon & Evening:
- Relaxation & Swimming: Unwind and enjoy a refreshing dip in the natural pool, surrounded by the tranquility of the desert.
- Free time after sunset, allowing for stargazing or quiet reflection.
- Dinner & Camping at Empty Quarter Lodge, experiencing the peaceful beauty of the desert at night.
- Sunrise at the Desert Lodge: Wake up to a stunning sunrise over the dunes, embracing the peaceful beauty of the Empty Quarter.
- Breakfast at the lodge, followed by check-out.
- Drive back to Salalah (3.5–4 hours): Enjoy a scenic journey across the desert landscapes as we make our way back to the city.
- Lunch in Salalah: Upon arrival, indulge in a delightful meal at a Turkish or Lebanese restaurant, savoring rich flavors and Middle Eastern hospitality.
- Check-in at Salalah Gardens City Hotel: After lunch, settle into your comfortable accommodation for a well-deserved rest.
