Upon reaching Sur, visit one of the few remaining traditional dhow factories, explore an open-air dhow museum, and enjoy a walk through Al Aygah, known for its beautiful old wooden doors. In the evening, you have the opportunity to visit Turtle Beach, where turtles can be seen laying their eggs, as well as baby turtles making their way to the sea. After a photo stop in Gaheid, prepare for a unique desert experience! You will cross the Sharqiyah Sands, enjoying its stunning dunes and peaceful atmosphere.
Hospitality is a cornerstone of Bedouin life, so we will visit a local Bedouin home, where you will enjoy an authentic, home-cooked Omani lunch and learn what it’s like to live in the desert in the 21st century. In the early afternoon, we will depart from the desert village and continue to the desert camp.

In both cities, you will also see the old, abandoned districts.
On your way to Nizwa, you will have the opportunity to visit the beehive tombs near Izki. Discovered only a few decades ago, these ancient tombs remain one of the many secrets of early Arabian civilization. As you approach Nizwa, you will find yourself surrounded by some of Oman’s highest mountains. Take a walk among the banana and date trees in Birkat Al Mauz, or simply enjoy the scenic view of the village. Overnight at Falaj Daris Hotel, Nizwa.

These government-restored estates offer insight into the historical lifestyle of the local peasant population.
Continue your journey up Jebel Shams, also known as the “Mountain of the Sun.” Its plateau offers breathtaking views of the canyon, often referred to as “Oman’s Grand Canyon.” In the afternoon, enjoy a walk through the beautiful old village of Misfat Al Abriyeen, where you will spend the night in a traditional house, complete with a homemade Omani dinner.
