DAY 2: Half-Day Muscat City Tour

This morning, you will be met at your hotel for a guided half-day city tour of Muscat, showcasing the capital’s rich history and stunning architecture. The tour begins with a visit to the magnificent Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, one of the largest and most beautiful mosques in the Middle East, known for its exquisite design and serene ambiance.

Next, continue to Seeb Fish Market, where you can witness the vibrant local trade and daily life. You will then visit the Natural History Museum, which offers fascinating exhibits on Oman’s geological wealth, flora, fauna, and cultural heritage. In the afternoon, enjoy a scenic drive to Qantab Beach, a pristine stretch of coastline ideal for a relaxing stroll or quiet reflection.

From there, follow the picturesque Corniche towards the old walled city of Muscat. Visit the Bait Al Zubair Museum, a treasure trove of Omani artifacts, traditional costumes, and historical insights. Photo stops will be made at the ceremonial Al Alam Palace, the official residence of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, flanked by the imposing 16th-century Portuguese forts Mirani and Jalali.

The day concludes with a visit to Muttrah Souq, one of the oldest markets in Oman, where you can browse and bargain for traditional handicrafts, silverware, and souvenirs.

DAY 3: Muscat – Wadi Arbaeen – Bimmah Sinkhole – Wadi Shab – Ras Al Hadd

08:30 AM – After breakfast, your guide will meet you at your hotel to begin an unforgettable journey along Oman’s eastern coastline.

Your first destination is the stunning Wadi Arbaeen, a hidden gem nestled within barren mountains. Along the way, enjoy scenic photo stops at picturesque villages surrounded by lush plantations of dates, lemons, and mangoes. Upon arrival at Wadi Arbaeen, marvel at the crystal-clear, deep blue pools — a perfect spot for a refreshing dip in this serene oasis.

Continue along the coastal route to visit the dramatic Bimmah Sinkhole, a natural limestone depression filled with turquoise water — an awe-inspiring geological wonder. From here, you’ll proceed to Fins Beach, known for its white sand and clear waters. Next, arrive at the breathtaking Wadi Shab, meaning “wadi between the cliffs.” Enjoy a guided walk through this magnificent valley — comfortable walking shoes are highly recommended. As you explore further, you’ll encounter a series of natural pools where you may take a rejuvenating swim in the pristine waters.

In the late afternoon, you’ll arrive at Ras Al Hadd, where you can unwind on the tranquil beach before enjoying an early dinner around 6:30 PM. Later in the evening, you will visit the Ras Al Jinz Turtle Reserve, where you’ll have the unique opportunity to witness nesting green turtles as they come ashore to lay their eggs — a truly magical and unforgettable wildlife experience.

DAY 4: Ras Al Hadd – Sur Dhow Factory – Wadi Bani Khalid – Wahiba Sands Desert

Your day begins with a visit to Sur, a coastal town steeped in maritime history. Here, you’ll explore the renowned Dhow Building Yard, where traditional wooden boats — known as dhows — are still handcrafted using time-honored techniques passed down through generations. This age-old craftsmanship reflects Oman’s seafaring legacy and its pivotal role as a maritime power in the Gulf.

Later in the afternoon, the adventure continues as you enter the golden dunes of the Wahiba Sands Desert — a vast expanse of rolling sands that stretches as far as the eye can see. DAY 5: Wahiba Sands – Sinaw – Birkat Al Mouz – Nizwa

After breakfast at the desert camp, you will depart the golden dunes of Wahiba Sands and begin your journey toward the interior of Oman.

Your first stop is the traditional village of Sinaw, known for its authentic local souq and as a cultural hub for Bedouin communities. A visit here offers insight into the region’s rural lifestyle and traditional trading practices.

Continue your journey toward the foothills of Jebel Al Akhdar, part of the spectacular Al Hajar mountain range. En route, stop at the historical village of Birkat Al Mouz, a picturesque settlement nestled amid lush date plantations. Take a walk through its falaj (ancient irrigation system), explore the winding alleys, and admire the crumbling mud-brick houses that offer a glimpse into Oman’s architectural heritage.

In the afternoon, you will arrive in Nizwa, one of Oman’s most historically significant cities, where you will check in at your hotel and enjoy a relaxing evening.

DAY 6: Nizwa – Jabrin Castle – Bahla Fort & Oasis – Jebel Shams

After breakfast, meet your guide in the hotel lobby to begin a full day of exploration through Oman’s cultural heartland and breathtaking mountain landscapes.

Start your day in Nizwa, once the capital of Oman and a major center for religion, education, and trade. Begin with a stroll through the traditional souq, where you can shop for local crafts, silver jewelry, and spices.

Then, visit the impressive Nizwa Fort, known for its massive circular tower. Built in the 17th century, the fort offers a glimpse into Oman’s architectural and defensive history.

Climb the tower for panoramic views of the lush date plantations and the surrounding cityscape. Continue your journey to Jabrin Castle, originally constructed as a residential palace for the Imam. Unlike other military-style forts, Jabrin reflects a more refined, artistic design with ornate ceilings, delicate wooden carvings, and hidden staircases. It also served as a center for learning and is believed to have housed one of Oman’s earliest schools.

Proceed to the historic town of Bahla, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enclosed by a 12-kilometer-long ancient wall, Bahla is known for its traditional pottery craftsmanship. Although Bahla Fort is currently under restoration and only viewable from the outside, its significance as one of the oldest forts in Oman is profound. Before heading up the mountain, take a detour into the dramatic Wadi Nakhr, often referred to as Oman’s Grand Canyon. This narrow gorge reveals awe-inspiring geological formations and offers a visit to a small village where traditional weaving is still practiced.

The day’s final ascent takes you to Jebel Shams, or “Sun Mountain,” which at 3,009 meters is Oman’s highest peak. From the summit, take in the spectacular views of the Grand Canyon of Arabia — a dramatic landscape of sheer cliffs, deep ravines, and striking natural beauty.

Adjacent to the fort, wander through the Nizwa Souq, a bustling marketplace renowned for its authentic Omani crafts, silver jewelry, spices, and traditional Khanjars (daggers). It’s an ideal place to find unique souvenirs and experience the vibrant atmosphere of local trade.

Later, drive back to Muscat and enjoy a visit to the prestigious Amouage Perfume Factory, one of the world’s leading luxury fragrance houses. Next, continue to the ancient ruins of Samharam (Khor Rori), a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This ancient port city was the easternmost outpost of the Hadramawt Kingdom along the historic incense trade route connecting the Mediterranean, Persian Gulf, and India. Khor Rori played a pivotal role as a trading hub for frankincense and was a key maritime center in the region.

On the return journey to western Salalah, stop at the lush Wadi Darbat for a peaceful walk along the wadi bed, surrounded by herds of camels, goats, and cattle. During the Khareef (monsoon) season, witness the spectacular 100-meter waterfall cascading into a series of lakes, framed by verdant vegetation—a unique natural phenomenon in this arid region.

Proceed to the Qara Mountains, where a scenic drive up winding roads offers stunning views of traditional rural Dhofari life, with grazing camels and cattle dotting the landscape. Visit the ancient Tomb of Prophet Job, nestled in the green mountain plains of Salalah, a site of spiritual significance and tranquil beauty.

DAY 11: Full-Day Dhofar Mountains Safari

After breakfast at your hotel, embark on a full-day safari into the stunning Dhofar Mountains. Your adventure begins with a visit to the intriguing Anti-Gravity Point, a natural phenomenon where vehicles appear to roll uphill against gravity, creating a captivating optical illusion.

Next, continue to Ain Hashir, home to an impressive cluster of 48 ancient Baobab trees, revered for their unique shape and longevity. From there, visit Tawi Attair, one of the world’s largest sinkholes, measuring 211 meters deep and 150 meters in diameter. Known as the “Well of Birds,” this dramatic chasm is a haven for various bird species throughout the year.

Your journey proceeds to the Jebel Samhan Mountain Range, where you’ll arrive at a breathtaking plateau situated nearly 1,700 meters above sea level. Here, explore the stunning Tiq Cave, often called the “Grand Canyon” of Dhofar. This vantage point offers panoramic views of the east coast on one side and the expansive Qamar mountain range on the other.
